Tom Ford's Sexy New York Fashion Week Show

Tom Ford, one of the industry's most famous and beloved designers, has experimented with various methods to unveil his annual collections for the better part of a decade. For his Springtime 2011 ready-to-wear series, reportedly fed up with the immediacy of the internet, he supported a VIP-only depiction during NYFW, with women like Beyoncé and Lauren Hutton walking and Terry Richardson as the only photographer invited on the premises. Afterwards, he cleverly decided to present his Drop-off 2015 collecting in LA (instead of London) just days before the Oscars in February, mostly to ensure some high-profile red-carpet times for his label. For Springtime 2016, he transactions the runway for a Nick Knight-directed video starring Lady Gaga, and the very next season, he chose to entry a" be seen, buy now" Fall 2016 accumulation with an insinuate dinner at the Four Seasons in New York.

It didn't take long for Tom Ford to ditch the in-season prototype and return to the long-lead glitz and glam he's famed for, and as it turns out, the shamelessly fancy incident he put on at the Park Avenue Armory Wednesday night might be just what the industry needed to threw its religion back in NYFW. As the unofficial outset to the week, Ford's picture was the first to draw an important roll of luminaries and supermodels: A recently platinum Kim Kardashian West, Julianne Moore, Ciara, Cindy Crawford, Doutzen Kroes, Chaka Khan and Liberty Ross were among the well-dressed madams in the figurehead sequence, and the diverse runway casting included many of modeling's biggest names, like Joan Smalls, Binx Walton, Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner.

Tom Ford's signature aesthetic -- seductive, shiny, daring and expensive -- was on full display for outpouring, with options for both day and night. Sharp-shouldered casings were a retro staple throughout the collection, done up in everything from scandalizing pink to leather to casual denim, and layered over chainmail or silk pinnacles, jumpsuits, bralettes and immersing bodysuits. In a particularly' 90 s styling choice, several of said hip-baring wears were taken together with low-slung trousers, which is an appearance that would certainly take Tom Ford’s high levels of swagger to pull off. Casual segments like rolled-hem shorts, shirt apparels, wide-legged gasps with cargo pockets, utilitarian coats and classic trench coats were given the ultra-luxe medicine, with metallic manufacturing’s, saturated colorings and rich leather.

For big-spending party animals girls looking to make a real entrance, there were minidresses aplenty -- including a booty-baring duo fully covered in disco-ball glisten.  About 30 sounds in, the soundtrack altered, and the eveningwear section of the display began, starting with Gigi Hadid in a glow goddess nightgown with complementary metal sleeves. The body-con ruched getups -- some topped with cropped casings -- are surefire red-carpet hopefuls in the months onward, and we can see our favorite tomboyish mode wizards opting for one of the collection's shiny jumpsuits or immaculately accommodated tuxedos instead.

Immediately after Tom Ford made his kowtow, the crowd was extended straight into the after-party, ended with male servers clad in nothing but sporting short-shorts and tube socks, exercising trays of hamburgers and champagne. Virgil Abloh, fresh off of his Nike" Off Campus" opening later on the day, manned the DJ booth, and the model’s -- who seemed to change out of their runway ogles in such matters of seconds -- blithely smacked the dance story in their off-duty duds. While it's unsound for industry tribes to certainly feeling on the night before NYFW even officially starts, nothing seemed to care. As the name of his just-released fragrance affirms, Tom Ford is fucking breathtaking, and when he launches a party in New York, you should savor every second -- and exactly deal with the hangover later.
